The West Wing: Season 2
As the President is rushed to hospital, we learn through flashbacks how his staff first joined him on the election campaign. Attacks come from all sides as mid-term elections loom, and as the plucky staff stay strong, Alan Arkin pops in as a psychiatrist helping Josh with his post-traumatic stress. Tensions begin to rise between Bartlet and his First Lady when she realises he is planning to run for a second term, and meanwhile the daily grind of running the country continues. With its wistful high regard for politicians who just want to do good, the second season proved as popular as the first, once again taking the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.
