Alias: Season 1
In 1997 a show first aired called 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', mocked by many for its name and above all its protagonist - a young female hero. Five years on, 'Alias' came onto our screens with Jennifer Garner as superspy Sydney Bristow, whose quick-change, high-kicking hijinks continued to carry the torch for strong women on television. Fast-paced action and intriguing storylines (including double agents and ancient prophecies) are grounded by a firm grip on the human element in a show that is above all, fun, with characters you may be surprised you come to care about and believe in.
