The Illusionist
Edward Norton is the supernaturally talented magician, Eisenheim, who uses his skills to win the heart of the woman he loved as a child, the young duchess, Sophie (Jessica Biel). In the socially rigid world of 19th century Vienna, their relationship was not acceptable, but now Eisenheim is a renowned illusionist, and he intends to overturn the draconian class divisions that separated them. Only now something else is standing in his way, namely Sophie's betrothed, the Crown Prince (Rufus Sewell). A juicy story of illusion and intrigue, adapted from a short story by Pulitzer Prize-winner Steven Millhauser, and nominated for a Best Cinematography Oscar. The excellent Paul Giamatti co-stars as the Crown Prince's point man.
