Lavish (if not always accurate) account of the legendary magician/escape artist/spiritualist stars Tony Curtis as Harry Houdini and Janet Leigh as his wife (the couple's first film together). Many of Houdini's greatest stunts - including his famous escape from a locked trunk submerged in an icy river - are thrillingly re-created in this biodrama from producer George Pal.
