Atonement

Based on the acclaimed novel by Ian McEwan ('Enduring Love', 'The Comfort of Strangers'), this epic war-time romance is one of the finest studies of fragile human dynamics seen on film. A 13-year-old girl witnesses an apparently inappropriate encounter between her sister and the boy she has a crush on, and teenage emotions lead to a dangerous accusation affecting their lives for decades. A superbly-crafted film with lush visuals and a superlative cast that more than does justice to the intricate and delicate screenplay.
