An epic portrait of iconic French singer, Edith Piaf, rooted in a maginificent performance from Marion Cotillard who channels the legendary performer from teenage street urchin to concert hall-filling superstar. Nicknamed the Little Sparrow by the club owner who 'discovered' her (a brief turn from Gerard Depardieu), her small frame belied a strength and determination of spirit that would carry her through a tumultuous, tragic and sadly, short life. Cotillard went to great lengths to immerse herself in the mannerisms and singing techniques of Piaf, but the voice you hear is the real 'la Mome', who endeavoured to live her life according to her most famous lyric, with 'no regrets'.
