Smart People

Dennis Quaid stars as an intellectually self-absorbed and embittered widower who, despite his fierce intelligence, has managed to completely mess up his personal relationships. He has alienated his son, and his daughter ('Juno's Ellen Page) is an acid-tongued over-achiever. However a bump on the head is about to introduce him to a new love (Sarah Jessica Parker), just as his hapless adopted brother (Thomas Haden Church) turns up on the scene. Quirky rom-com full of smart sad-sacks who get a lesson in love.
