Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day

Frances McDormand is a frumpy governess in 1930s London whose job prospects have just become nil. Not one to take hard times lying down, Miss Pettigrew finds herself employment as the social secretary to a frivolous aspiring actress (Amy Adams). Frothy romantic comedy, perfectly evokes a carefree London even as war looms on the horizon. Delightfully witty, with charming performances from the two female leads; based on the novel by Winifred Watson.
