Apron Strings

Samoan-born Aucklander Sima Urale makes her feature debut with this light-hearted, multi-cultural family drama exploring the fine line between mothering and smothering. At the heart of the story are three women whose lives revolve around food; so if old-fashioned cake shop owner Lorna, no-nonsense curry house owner Tara, and glamorous TV chef Anita can put the same amount of effort into saving their families as they put into making delicious meals, perhaps there's hope for them yet.
