Pineapple Express
From the writers of 'Superbad', this is a stoner/buddy/crime caper flick that delivers on all three levels with no small thanks to indie director David Gordon Green, more well known for his brooding Southern dramas ('Undertow'). When pot-smoking court clerk Seth Rogen accidentally witnesses a crooked cop commit a murder, he and his dealer (James Franco) find themselves on the run from the psychotic killer (an excellent Gary Cole) and the most powerful drug lord in the city. Fortunately they have a supply of the mind-blowing 'Pineapple Express' to calm their nerves. An excellent buddy movie, with a delightful support cast including Ed Begley Jr, Rosie Perez and Danny McBride.
