A senstively-mounted drama about 15-year-old Alex, born 'intersex' - having both male and female characteristics - raised as a girl by her parents, and struggling to find an identity in a world that doesn't readily accept difference. When the family is visited by a couple and their teenage son, the attraction between the two youths forces everyone to meet some uncomfortable truths head-on. Managing to avoid both lectures and exploitation, this gentle Argentinean film is an intelligent and deeply moving story of compassion, love, difference and acceptance.
