CRAZY

Zac Beaulieu was born on Christmas Day in 1960 and lives with his parents and four brothers in Quebec. He grows up longing for acceptance from his homophobic father as he himself struggles to accept his own sexuality, in this moving and engaging coming-of-age tale spanning 20 years. To the soundtrack of Pink Floyd and David Bowie, Zac's highs and lows both uplift and tug at the heartstrings. While some of the snappy dialogue may have been lost in translation, this sweet drama/comedy was Canada's entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2005 Academy Awards and cleaned up at Canada's Genie Awards in 2006, garnering 13 nominations and 11 wins, including Best Picture, Best Screenplay and The Golden Reel Award for the highest-grossing Canadian film.
