Max Manus: Man of War
Biographical war drama based on the life of Norwegian resistance fighter Max Manus. Aksel Hennie stars as Manus, who joins the resistance movement in Nazi-occupied Norway and masterminds a series of highly successful sabotage missions against the Germans. Although he is singled out by the Gestapo as a special target, the ever resourceful Manus manages to evade capture and goes on to form a group of urban fighters known as the 'Oslo Gang' who help drive out the enemy using guerilla warfare. Despite his numerous triumphs on the battlefront, Manus struggles to come to terms with the loss of his comrades' lives and the futility of war. The film's moving storyline and stunning visuals bring to life this epic chapter in WWII history.
