Kafka

The life and writings of Franz Kafka inspired this fascinating film starring Jeremy Irons as a mild-mannered insurance clerk by day and aspiring writer by night, who becomes involved in a complex web of murder and bureaucracy gone wild, as well as diabolical plans for human reconditioning. Startling, mostly black-and-white cinematography, realistic locales in the brooding city of Prague and several playful surrealistic episodes help keep one mesmerized.
