David Lean adapts Noel Coward once again ('This Happy Breed', 'Brief Encounter') with excellent results. Rex Harrison is an author writing a book on spiritualism who becomes haunted by the scathing ghost of his long-dead first wife. With his new second marriage in jeoardy he enlists the help of a spiritualist (Margaret Rutherford in her funniest performance) to exorcise wife number one. Hugely popular at the time, this witty comedy has lost none of its appeal.
