In this hilarious, rough-and -tumble comedy Burt Reynolds is a former American football pro who winds up behind bars after leading police on a wild chase in a 'borrowed' car. Once inside he agrees to organise a prisoner's team to play the guards. The warden wants to make sure his goon squad will only be met with passive resistance but Reynold's 'Mean Machine' team have other ideas.
