Bread and Tulips

Aka "Pane e Tulipani". After being left behind by her tour bus a bored housewife decides to hitchhike home, and after a few rides finds herself in Venice. Entranced by the city, she decides to stay longer and quickly befriends an odd but lovable collection of locals. In the meantime, her indifferent husband, who is at wit's end since his mistress refuses to iron his shirts, dispatches an out of work plumber who reads detective fiction to find her, but will she return to her supressed life? This wonderful, charming, romantic comedy stars Licia Maglietta and Bruno Ganz.
