Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
The popular Disney theme park attraction inspired this swashbuckling, high-seas adventure from producer Jerry Bruckheimer. The roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrow's (Johnny Depp) idyllic pirate life capsizes after his nemesis, the wily Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), steals his ship the Black Pearl, and kidnaps the governor's beautiful daughter Elizabeth (Keira Knightley). Filled with plenty of sword-clashing action, mystery, humour, and dazzling special effects, this is adventure on a grand scale. Worth seeing alone for Johnny Depp's flamboyant performance which he claims was modelled on The Rolling Stones' famed guitarist Keith Richards! Also stars Orlando Bloom.
