George and Mildred: The Movie
Television's most famous bickering couple George and Mildred Roper hit the big screen in the original full-length feature film. Mildred (Yootha Joyce) is determined that the anniversary of her wedding to George (Brian Murphy) should be celebrated in style. Following a false start that proves to be anything but romantic, they head to a plush London hotel for an out-of-season package deal. However before their weekend begins, George is mistaken as a ruthless hit-man by Harry Pinto, a crooked business tycoon who wants his rival dead. Meanwhile, Mildred finds herself being courted by a lonely businessman. Yet the presence of his rival's hit-man (Kenneth Cope) causes further confusion when he belives George is his target, leading to a number of near-misses. Blissfully unaware of the increasing bodycount of innocent victims, George and Mildred will find themselves shot at, win and lose a fortune at the casino, propositioned by gangsters and molls, and caught in a dramatic car chase on a road to nowhere.
