Rising Damp: The Movie
Eric Chappell returned to write the screenplay for this spin-off of his classic series. Most cast members reprised their roles with the exception of Richard Beckinsale who sadly died young in 1979. Leonard Rossiter is as offensive as ever as the demented landlord, desperate to woo his favourite tenant, Frances De La Tour. Knitting together some of the best moments from the series, somehow this movie version works.
