Sin City
Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller together adapted three of Miller's noir-drenched stories from his famous comic series. With a stellar cast (including Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen) and shot almost entirely using green screen, Rodriguez recreates the seething black and white of the source material with stunning fidelity to the artist's vision. Loaded with hard-boiled loners, scantily clad femme fatales, and corrupt cops colliding in bursts of absurdly over-the-top violence, this ultra-stylized film is an unprecedented comic-to-screen translation.
