Ladies in Lavender
Judi Dench and Maggie Smith are elderly spinsters living on the Cornwall coast in 1936 when they find a handsome young Polish man washed up injured on the beach. An unlikely love triangle develops as the two nurse him back to health constantly vying for his attention. Someone must know him, but can the sisters bear to let him go? Based on a short story this charming bittersweet comedy is the directorial debut of actor Charles Dance who also adapted the screenplay.
