Gosford Park

Robert Altman's acclaimed mix of British period drama and Agatha Christie-styled mystery is set at an English estate in 1932, where home owner Michael Gambon and wife Kristin Scott Thomas' aristocratic friends join American movie producer Bob Balaban and actor Jeremy Northam for a shooting party. After one of the revelers is stabbed to death, Scotland Yard inspector Stephen Fry investigates as indiscretions, jealousies and secrets among the guests and servants surface. Maggie Smith, Helen Mirren, Richard E Grant, Emily Watson, Alan Bates, Derek Jacobi, Ryan Phillippe and Charles Dance are also part of the formidable cast.
