Lord of War
In this black comedy/drama Nic Cage plays opportunistic businessman Yuri Orlov who has made a killing (excuse the pun) selling the left-over Soviet weapons from the Cold War. Bargain basement arms have made him a very wealthy man, but now he has attracted the attention of Interpol agent Jack Valentine (Ethan Hawke). Based on a true story, Niccol's film sometimes has the touch of a sledgehammer on a thumb tack, and accents are not really Nic Cage's thing, but what an opening sequence!
