Donkey Skin
At once charming, bizarre and eerie, director Jacques Demy's ('The Umbrellas of Cherbourg') colourful adaptation of the fairytale by Perrault (who also penned 'Cinderella') stars Catherine Deneuve as a beautiful princess who flees her home, dressed in a magical donkey skin, to escape having to marry her widowed father (Jean Marais). Delphine Seyrig co-stars as the fairy godmother with music by Michel Legrand.
