The Weather Man
This darkly funny and moving tale of mid-life crisis stars Nic Cage as Dave Spritz, a successful weather man who feels his life is slipping away, reflected in the soul-sucking frigidity of the wintry Chicago landscape. He faces his inner angst with stoic humour, doing his best to ignore his life. Hope Davis is his exasperated ex-wife looking after their children, and a winning Michael Caine his loving father whose health is failing. A job offer in New York prompts Dave to try and salvage his relationships, but this turns out to be much harder than it sounds.
