On September 11th, 2001 United Flight 93 crashed into a cornfield in Pennsylvania after passengers on board took it on themselves to thwart the plans of hijackers. Director Paul Greengrass ('Bloody Sunday') brought an immediate and unsentimental realism to his painstakingly researched recontruction of this astonishing event, polarising US audiences at the box office, almost five years after the event.
