Three exceptional BBC mini-series, adapted from the works of 19th century novelist, Anthony Trollope. 'The Barchester Chronicles' (1982) is based on two of Trollope's novels, 'The Warden' and 'The Barchester Towers', and stars Donald Pleasance as Reverend Septimus Harding, warden of the Hiram Hospital, about to be shook up by the arrival of a young reformer. 'The Way We Live Now' (2001) is a sharp Victorian satire with Matthew Macfadyen, Shirley Henderson and Cillian Murphy as part of an all-star cast. 'He Knew He Was Right' (2004) is a rich depiction of the failure of a marriage due to jealousy, with Bill Nighy, Laura Fraser and Geoffrey Palmer.
