After a year in Israel studying to be a Rabbi, Yuri Kovner returns home to Sydney following his father's death. He finds it hard to integrate back into the strict Hasidic community, and begins to feel he is losing his faith. Abandoning his former calling, and his girlfriend, he starts driving taxis, and meets a Fijian girl who washes the cabs. In his confused search for intimacy he misinterprets their friendship, and then begins looking for love in the most unlikely of places. Winner of three AFI Awards: Best Screenplay for a Short Film, Best CInematography in a Non-Feature and Best Short Fiction Film.
