Life on Mars: Series 1
Present day Manchester, Detective Sam Tyler is in pursuit of some bad guys when he is involved in a near-fatal car accident. When he wakes up, he's still in Manchester, he's still Detective Sam Tyler, but the year is now 1973. Is he dreaming? Is he in a coma? Or has he travelled back in time? As Sam tries to unravel the mystery of his time-hopping existence, he is still a cop on the beat - only things are a little different in 1973. It's hello to flares, strong-arm tactics and sideburns, and goodbye to women's lib and forensics. 'The Sweeney' meets 'Doctor Who' in this thoroughly entertaining, Emmy-winning BBC series.
