Deliverance
Four Atlanta businessmen's weekend canoe trip turns into a desperate fight for survival in John Boorman's riveting adaptation of James Dickey's novel. When the adventurous Lewis (Burt Reynolds) is injured, affable and laid-back Ed (Jon Voight) must lead the quartet's escape from a gang of sadistic backwoodsmen. Ned Beatty, Ronny Cox, Bill McKinney, Herbert "Cowboy" Coward also star; soundtrack includes the hit "Duelling Banjos."
