Standard Operating Procedure

Master documentarian Errol Morris takes an unflinching look at the Abu Ghraib prison scandal while meditating on the frightening side effects of the 'War on Terror'. Speaking with the very people vilified in the now infamous photographs, he attempts to understand if the atrocities committed at Abu Ghraib were simply the results of inexperienced young soldiers drunk with power, or something indicative of a larger, more malevolent government conspiracy. Skilfully drawing the viewer in, Morris reveals there is more behind the photographs than we were lead to believe.
