The Road to Guantanamo

A searing dramatisation of the real-life experiences of three men who set off from Tipton, England, for a wedding in Pakistan in September of 2001. On the spur of the moment they jumped on a bus that crossed the border into Afghanistan where US troops were just beginning their retaliatory invasion in the wake of 9/11. The men, who would become known as the Tipton Three, would spend two horrific years in the infamous Guantanamo Bay prison after being 'mistaken' for terrorists. This award-winning film from veteran director Michael Winterbottom, and newcomer Mat Whitecross, tells their staggering story.
