Martyrs
The relentlessly brutal tale of a girl who, having suffered horrific abuse as a young child, is virtually catatonic after she makes a daring escape. Her captors are never found, but Lucie begins to feel functional again, mainly as a result of her friendship with Anna, a fellow abuse victim. Now, fifteen years later, and Lucie's search for answers about her past will lead to the most terrifying ordeal of all. Graphically disturbing and ultra-violent, this gear-shifting gore-fest is right at home amidst contemporary Euro-horrors, 'The Ordeal', 'High Tension' and 'Frontier(s)'; written and directed by Patrick Laugier ('Brotherhood of the Wolf').
