Midnight Express

From director Alan Parker ('Birdy', 'Mississippi Burning') and based on a true story, this hyper-violent and grim portrait of American student Billy Hayes, who was sentenced to 30 years in a Turkish prison for attempting to smuggle hashish into the West, stars a riveting Brad Davis in the lead role as the frightened Hayes. Featuring top support from Randy Quaid, John Hurt, Bo Hopkins and Paul Smith, memorably brutish as the perversely sadistic chief guard. Featuring an Oscar-winning screenplay by Oliver Stone and Oscar-winning score by Giorgio Moroder.
