Light years ahead of its time, this groundbreaking, visually stunning masterpiece grows even more wondrous as time passes. Beginning with The Dawn of Man, we leap forward millenia where the discovery of an object of unknown origin on the moon will lead the crew of spaceship Discovery One on an adventure to confront mankind's destiny. Originally based on the short story, 'The Sentinel', by Arthur C Clarke, and featuring the music of Richard Strauss. Followed 16 years later by '2010'.
