Harvey Fierstein adapted his Broadway hit play about the trials and tribulations of being a sexually active, gay urban male in the 1970's for the big screen and repeats the role of Arnold Beckoff, a drag artiste looking for love. He finds it with Brian Kerwin and Matthew Broderick. Anne Bancroft is Arnold's very Jewish mother and a prime cause of Arnold's frustrated anger. Brilliantly funny and heartfelt.
