This insightful black comedy follows the developing romance between an unlikely pair of misfits. Maria (Adrienne Shelly) an obnoxious, tartily dressed, pregnant high school dropout and Mathew (Martin Donovan) an unbalanced electronics whiz who carries a hand grenade in his pocket 'just in case'.
