U-571
During World War II, neophyte officer Matthew McConaughey heads up a secret US Navy mission to retrieve a German encoding device from a disabled U-Boat in the Atlantic. The operation succeeds, but the American sub is destroyed. Can the crew fix the damaged U-boat and make it home while staving off the enemy? Loosely inspired by true (albeit British) events, this gripping war drama also stars Bill Paxton, Harvey Keitel and Jon Bon Jovi.
