Screen debut for controversial rapper Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers), who is a sensation as Jimmy Smith, Jr., aka "Rabbit", a factory worker trying to burst out of the mean streets of Detroit and score as a hip-hop artist. After breaking up with his girlfriend, Rabbit moves in with trailer trash mom Kim Basinger and her family, but, with help from a group of supportive friends, hopes to fulfill his dreams of music stardom.
