On June 12, 2000 a lone gunman, seemingly insane or drugged, hijacked a bus in Rio de Janeiro as authorities - and television cameras - surrounded them, capturing with shocking intimacy the four-hour standoff. This nail-biting documentary also gives voice to the hijacker, 21-year-old Sandro do Nascimento who at a very young age witnessed his mother's murder and later survived the brutal police slaughter of several of his homeless friends. Unflinching and bold this was Newsweek's Film of the Year.
