1984

An extraordinary film version of George Orwell's dystopian masterpiece, starring John Hurt and Richard Burton. A story of impossible love and tragic betrayal set in the twisted, and, in 1949 when it was published, futuristic world of 1984. With overtones of Stalin's Russia, Orwell's book gave us the concepts of 'doublethink', 'Room 101', 'thought police' and of course, 'Big Brother'. Music by Dominic Muldowney and Eurythmics.
