This excellent adaptation of Margaret Rosenthal's book , "The Honest Courtesan", is set in 16th century Venice and focuses on the real-life story of Veronica Franco (Catherine McCormack), who used her beauty, intelligence and body to become a courtesan with power. This sweeping film also stars Oliver Platt and Rufus Sewell.
