Altered States

William Hurt stars in a dazzling debut as a research scientist on an incredible journey into the inner space of the mind. He tries everything from psychedelic drugs to flotation tanks in an attempt to discover man's true reason for existence. Paddy Chayefsky adapted the screenplay from his own novel, but removed his name from the project as he was unhappy with the result. With Blair Brown and spectacular special effects by Bran Ferren.
