Rounders

In this colourful gambling drama from director John Dahl ('Red Rock West', 'The Last Seduction'), Matt Damon plays a top law student who tries to put his high-stakes poker playing days behind him. Slowly he is drawn back into the gambling world however, and when his bad-news best friend (Edward Norton) gets in over his head, Damon's character tries to bail him out with his card skills. The high-profile supporting cast includes John Turturro as a seasoned gambling pro, Martin Landau as a caring law professor, Gretchen Mol as the law student's girl, and John Malkovich in an amusingly over-the-top performance as a Russian mobster.
