Director Zhang Yimou's highly stylized martial arts epic stars Jet Li as a nameless expert swordsman, who tells the ruler of one of ancient China's warring kingdoms how he defeated a trio of deadly assassins threatening the ruler, but who perhaps has his own secret agenda. Dazzling choreography, vivid cinematography and spectacular action are the hallmarks of this offering co-starring Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung and Zhang Ziyi.
