When rebellious 16-year-old Grace (Odessa Young) takes off, her exasperated mum & dad (Radha Mitchell & Richard Roxburgh) enlist the help of a nearly retired detective, and begin the long drive from Perth to the West Australian wheatbelt to try to find her. On the road, the two must confront the realities of their changing relationship to one another, and to their daughter. A beautiful, bold and unmistakably Australian story. With its painterly eye for the parched saltpans and wheat fields bisected by snaking roads, the film has a lonely, elegiac beauty. The unexpected comedy can give way in an instant to something darker, but it's never mean-spirited. Sydney Morning Herald
