From writer/director John Sayles comes this sobering and politically awakening film about a recently widowed doctor who returns to an unnamed Latin American country in order to pay a visit to some of his former students, whom he dispatched to work in the country's poorest regions. This fascinating journey becomes an odyssey of discovery for the affluent but naive doctor, who acquires some unlikely companions along the way. Federico Luppi, Mandy Patinkin and Damian Delgado.
