Memento

The toast of the 2001 Sundance Film Festival, this crafty, twisty offbeat thriller focuses on Leonard (Guy Pearce), a man struggling to put his life back together after the brutal rape and murder of his wife. Having been severely beaten himself by that murderer, Leonard's lasting injury is that his short-term memory has been destroyed. This, however, does not stop his obsession with the notion of taking revenge. The resulting mesmerising labyrinth, embracing the very best of its noir origins, should not be missed.
